According to the front page of Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira is hoping to have a face-to-face conversation with former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho. Vieira hopes to see what it will take to get Mourinho to accept the offer to return to Benfica starting next season.
Earlier this week, Vieira stated that if Mourinho were interested in going to Benfica, money would not be an obstacle. Since firing Rui Vitoria last week, Benfica have yet to officially announce his permanent replacement. Bruno Lage is currently serving as the interim manager and may terminate the season as Benfica boss if no replacement is found beforehand.
